The Epochs is a data-driven interactive audiovisual art installation that visualizes the Internet population throughout human history. We used the open data from 1990 until 2019 to create an algorithm that generates the movement and clustering of abstract visual elements.
To inspires the audience to interact with the data, the work utilizes the camera sensor to detect people and creates the magnifying glass for the visitor to "peek" into each year's population growth. It is easy to forget how life without ubiquitous technologies was. The Internet may have already changed the world, but no doubt, big changes still lie ahead. Exhibited at:
